Chapter 5 - COUNTERATTACK

Elena turned to the prosecutor. "Sir, please open the blue folder inside my briefcase."
The prosecutor complied, pulling out a set of certified documents from the Global Cyber Security Authority.
"Every single transaction Julian alleged I made actually originated from an IP address registered to his private residence," Elena stated calmly. "Furthermore, the flash drive delivered to the press by Vanessa Sterling contains a hidden tracker that recorded the exact metadata of the device it was copied from—Julian’s personal laptop."
Julian stood up so fast his chair clattered to the floor. "This is a setup! She’s lying!"
"The digital forensics don't lie, Mr. Vance," the prosecutor said, his tone instantly shifting to ice as he signaled the guards outside. "Sit down."
Within hours, the narrative flipped completely. The federal charges against Elena were dropped, and an arrest warrant was issued for Julian Vance for corporate espionage, fraud, and framing a federal witness.
But Elena wasn't done. She had saved the final stroke for the two people who had started it all.
Vanessa and Chloe were packing their bags, planning to flee the country before the legal fallout of Julian's arrest hit them, when their hotel room doors were opened by the property management.
Elena walked in, flanked by two lawyers.
"What are you doing here?" Vanessa hissed, backing into the corner. "Get out!"
"I'm here to collect what's mine," Elena said, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "Your fathers signed over the remaining assets of the Sterling Group and Chloe's fashion house to the Vance Group this morning in exchange for us not pursuing criminal conspiracy charges against them for assisting Julian."

Chloe gasped, clutching her chest. "You took everything? We have nothing left!"
"You have exactly what you had the night you pushed me into the pool," Elena said, looking down at them. "Arrogance. Cruelty. And a complete lack of character. Let's see how much those are worth on the open market."
