The hallway erupted into chaos.
Doctors pulled patients into nearby rooms.
Security guards rushed toward the armed men—but within seconds, they were on the ground.
These weren't ordinary criminals.
They moved with military precision.
Ethan grabbed Emma's hand.
"Take Lily and run!"
"But what about you?"
"I'll find you."
Emma hesitated for only a second before lifting Lily into her arms and sprinting toward the emergency stairwell.
Behind them, gunfire shattered every window in the corridor.
The leader of the attackers calmly stepped over the broken glass.
His silver hair and tailored black suit made him look more like a billionaire than a killer.
"Captain Cole," he said with a smile.
"You've made this much harder than it needed to be."
Ethan clenched his fists.
"I know you..."
The man nodded.
"You should."
"My name is Victor Kane."
"I was the one who signed the order that buried your entire unit."
Everything came rushing back.
Eight years earlier...
Ethan had secretly copied classified files proving that Kane and several powerful officials were selling military technology on the black market.
Before Ethan could expose them...
His helicopter was sabotaged.
His teammates were executed.
The mission was rewritten as an accident.
And Ethan was left for dead.
Victor slowly applauded.
"You survived the impossible."

Ethan frowned.
"What evidence?"
Victor looked toward the stairwell where Emma had escaped.
"The teddy bear."

Emma and Lily reached the hospital parking garage.
Lily suddenly remembered something.
She hugged her old teddy bear tightly.
"Mom..."
"The music box..."
Emma froze.
"What music box?"
Lily reached inside the torn fabric of the teddy bear and pulled out a tiny metal key.
Hidden beneath the stuffing was a miniature encrypted memory chip.
Emma stared in disbelief.
The chip had been sewn into the toy years ago.
Neither of them had ever known it was there.

Every computer screen suddenly lit up with the same warning.
ENCRYPTED FILE DETECTED.
PROJECT PHOENIX HAS BEEN REACTIVATED.
An elderly man wearing a general's uniform slowly removed his glasses.
His face turned pale.

"He found the chip."
Then he whispered words that changed everything.
"Protect Captain Cole."
