Chapter 10 - The Wedding That Wasn'tThree months later, the headlines across the global financial and society pages were dominated by a single, staggering story: The Complete Collapse of the Vance Syndicate and the Rise of Moretti Global.

Back in Connecticut, the autumn leaves were turning golden and red, painting the Moretti estate in warm, vibrant hues.

The grand gallery had been completely restored. The damaged portrait of Damian’s grandfather was gone, replaced by a stunning, modern abstract painting. The white marble floor gleamed as if nothing had ever happened there.

In the private garden behind the mansion, an intimate gathering of close friends, trusted associates, and Aunt Rosa stood beneath a floral archway. There were no thirty elite guests, no fake society friends, no cameras hired to document a superficial lie.

Clara Hayes stood under the archway, wearing a breathtaking, elegant white silk dress that hugged her curves to absolute perfection. Her dark curls cascaded over her shoulders, and her eyes shone with absolute happiness.

Damian Moretti stood before her, wearing a simple black suit, looking at her with a depth of devotion that he had never shown another living soul.

"I never planned on getting married," Damian said softly, sliding a heavy, exquisite diamond ring onto her finger. "Especially not after the disaster I almost walked into."

Clara smiled, her thumb brushing against his hand. "Well, Mr. Moretti... you always did have terrible taste in fiancées. It’s a good thing your maid knew how to fix it."

Damian laughed—a rich, genuine, joyful sound—and pulled her close against his chest.

"I love you, Clara," he whispered against her lips. "My partner, my equal, my everything."

"I love you too, Damian," she murmured softly.

As their lips met in a deep, passionate kiss, the grandfather clock in the hallway struck midnight—not with the bitter ending of a ruined engagement, but with the triumphant beginning of an empire built on truth, power, and an unbreakable love that started with a memory card and a gallon of white paint.
