Chapter 5 - The Sunrise Press ReleaseThe sun broke over the Connecticut coastline at 5:30 AM, painting the sky in violent shades of orange and violet.

Outside the massive iron gates of the Moretti estate, a swarm of reporters, paparazzi, and camera crews pushed against the security barriers. Rumors had leaked overnight: The billion-dollar wedding of the year canceled at midnight. The bride detained by armed guards. A corporate espionage scandal involving the Sterling family.
At 6:00 AM sharp, the front oak doors opened.
It wasn't Damian Moretti who walked out first. It was Clara Hayes.
She was dressed in a tailored charcoal pantsuit that fit her curves to absolute perfection, her dark curls neatly pinned back, wearing high heels that clicked authority against the stone steps. Behind her walked two senior corporate lawyers carrying heavy leather briefcases.
Microphones shoved forward like angry black snakes. Flashbulbs blinded the morning light.
"Miss Hayes! Who are you? Where is Vanessa Sterling?" shouted a reporter from the Wall Street Journal.
Clara stepped up to the microphone, her voice carrying clear, calm, and resonant across the courtyard.
"Good morning," Clara announced, her tone ringing with absolute composure. "Last night, at approximately 11:45 PM, the engagement between Mr. Damian Moretti and Miss Vanessa Sterling was permanently dissolved due to verified breaches of corporate confidentiality, fraudulent misrepresentation, and criminal conspiracy orchestrated by Miss Sterling and her brother, Julian."
A collective gasp swept through the press pack.
"Federal authorities have taken Mr. Sterling into custody," Clara continued smoothly, reading from the official statement. "Furthermore, legal proceedings have been initiated to seize all Sterling family assets tied to the attempted corporate sabotage of Moretti Enterprises. A full press packet is being distributed to your outlets now."
"And what is your role here?" another reporter yelled over the uproar. "Are you the new spokesperson?"
May you like
Clara looked past the cameras, toward the second-floor study window where Damian Moretti stood watching her with a cup of black coffee in his hand. He raised his cup to her in a silent toast.
"My name is Clara Hayes," she said into the microphone, a faint, confident smile playing on her lips. "I am Mr. Moretti’s new Chief of Confidential Operations. And trust me, gentlemen... the real story has only just begun."
