CHAPTER 4 — The Prison Queen Kneels

Raven did not sleep that night.

For twelve years, every woman in Block D had feared her name.

But now, one quiet newcomer had exposed the truth.

Raven had never ruled the prison.

She had been used.

The next morning, the cafeteria was silent when Emma walked in.

No one laughed.

No one whispered.

Even the guards stood differently around her.

Raven slowly rose from her table.

Everyone expected another fight.

Instead...

She walked toward Emma and dropped to one knee.

The entire cafeteria froze.

"I was wrong," Raven said.

"I hurt people because someone taught me fear was the only way to survive."

Emma stared at her.

Raven lowered her head.

"Teach me how to fight the real enemy."

Before Emma could answer, every light in the prison suddenly went out.

Then a voice came through the speakers.

Cold.

Distorted.

Familiar.

"Ghost may have exposed the guards..."

"But she hasn't exposed me."

Emma's face changed for the first time.

May you like

Because she knew that voice.

And it belonged to the one man who was supposed to be dead.
