Chapter 7 - The Trap Springs Alejandro unfolded the note with trembling fingers, his eyes scanning the lines in the dim light.

“My dearest son Alejandro,” he read aloud, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper. “If you are reading this, your greed has finally brought you back to the only place you abandoned. You spent ten years looking for a fortune that I liquidated long ago to fund orphanages across Jalisco. The real estate was sold. The accounts are empty. But you found Diego. And in finding him, you walked straight into the trap I set for you.”
Before Alejandro could finish reading, the shrill sound of police sirens pierced the night air, growing louder by the second until blue and red lights flashed violently through the cracked window blinds, painting the room in flashing crimson.
"What is this?" Alejandro roared, turning furiously toward Clara. "You called the police?"
Clara didn't flinch. She simply pointed toward the front window, where three patrol cars had blocked the alleyway exits. "Not me, Alejandro. Carmen didn't just trust Diego with her final days. Before she passed, she filed a formal affidavit with the state prosecutor detailing years of financial coercion, harassment, and threats from your corporate syndicate."
The front door kicked open with a thunderous crash, and federal police officers swarmed into the narrow hallway, automatic weapons raised.

"Federal police! Drop your weapons!" a commanding voice barked.
The two thugs froze, looking helplessly at Alejandro as an officer forced them to their knees, snapping heavy plastic zip-ties around their wrists. Alejandro stood slowly, clutching the paper, his face twisted in pure, unadulterated rage as an officer grabbed his arms and forced him down against the dusty floorboards.
