Chapter 8 - The Price of Arrogance

The rain poured down in sheets, soaking Vincent to the bone as he stood alone in front of the luxury condo building.
He had nothing. No money, no guns, no territory, no loyal men. The South Side enforcers who once kissed his boots were now taking orders from me. The federal agents were waiting two blocks away with an arrest warrant for his offshore accounts. And the woman he had abandoned his dying wife for had used him as a pawn in a multi-million-dollar corporate takeover.
He pulled his phone from his pocket, his hands shaking violently. There was only one number left to call.
