Chapter 14 - The Breach in the MainframeDeep in the subterranean data vault beneath the tower, Arthur Sterling stood before a towering rack of quantum servers, his fingers gracefully tapping away at a custom console. The screen flickered with a terrifying interface: Project Prometheus - Overload Sequence Active.
"Mr. Sterling," an electronic voice chimed from the terminal's built-in speaker. "The external relay has been established. We are forty minutes away from full initialization."
Sterling smiled, adjusting the cuffs of his immaculate shirt. "Excellent. Once the engine blows, the board will have no choice but to hand emergency control of global energy grids back to Sterling Global. Ethan Cross will spend the rest of his life behind bars for criminal negligence."
Suddenly, the console screen flashed bright red.
Warning: Unauthorized local override detected on Port 4.
Sterling’s smile vanished. His eyes narrowed. "What is that?"

"Someone is attempting to bridge the sub-routine from an internal terminal," the automated system responded. "Source... fiftieth-floor auxiliary console."
Sterling let out a cold, humorless chuckle. "The little girl thinks she can stop a quantum-level cascade with a script she wrote on her dad's old laptop. Cut the feed to that terminal. Send a cleanup crew to secure her."
