Chapter 14 - The Snare TightensDominic lowered his binoculars, his jaw clenching so hard a muscle twitched in his cheek. He had spotted the glare of the glass through the dense foliage down the road within seconds.

He didn't panic. He didn't shout for guards. Instead, he turned calmly back into his study, picked up his secure satellite phone, and dialed a direct, encrypted number.
"Vincenzo," Dominic said smoothly the moment the line connected. "We have uninvited guests admiring the landscaping. A black sedan, two blocks down, facing north."
"On it, Boss," Vincenzo’s gruff voice replied instantly. "We’ll box them in before they even realize the gates are manual."

"No," Dominic corrected, a chilling edge cutting through his tone. "Don't box them in yet. Let them think they have an opening. Let them step onto the property. I want to teach Brooklyn what happens when someone looks at my house."
Dominic hung up the phone, walked over to the mahogany desk, and unlocked the bottom drawer. He pulled out a heavy, matte-black firearm, checked the magazine with a practiced, mechanical click, and slid it into his holster. The lion was awake, and the savannah was about to run red.
