Chapter 7 - The Empire of IceSix months later.

The penthouse overlooking the city was no longer just an expensive apartment; it was the absolute center of global financial power.
Elena stood on the private balcony, the evening breeze fluttering the hem of her emerald-green silk dress. Below her, the city lights twinkled like a sea of diamonds. Every major commercial tower, every shipping route, every tech hub across three continents answered directly to her command.
The media called her the "Ice Queen of Wall Street." Some whispered about her with reverence; others whispered with sheer terror. Nobody dared cross her. Nobody dared underestimate her.
Marcus stepped out onto the balcony, holding a sleek silver tablet.
"Boss," Marcus said quietly. "The restructuring of the Sterling assets is complete. The old headquarters has been completely demolished. Groundbreaking for the new Vance Global Center begins tomorrow morning."
Elena took a slow sip of her wine, her eyes fixed on the horizon. "And the former occupants?"
Marcus gave a faint, cold smile. "Damian is currently serving a fifteen-year federal sentence at maximum security upstate. His cellmate is a former business associate he once cheated. As for Veronica..." Marcus paused slightly. "She’s working the night shift at a 24-hour diner on the outskirts of the city. Completely broke, blacklisted from society, and entirely forgotten."
Elena didn't feel joy. She didn't feel pity. She felt only absolute, serene peace.
She remembered the day she stood in that exact living room, wearing a cheap dress, humiliated, with blood on her lip, listening to Damian call her an expense. How foolish they had been to think that wealth and power were defined by the gold on the walls or the rings on their fingers.
True power wasn't something you wore. It was something you were.
"Good," Elena said softly.

She turned away from the balcony, walking back into the vast, luminous penthouse. The gold walls gleamed under the warm lighting, but this time, every single inch of it belonged to her.
She sat down at her desk, picked up a heavy gold pen, and prepared to sign the documents that would shape the future of the financial world.
