Chapter 9 - The Final CollapseFrom the maintenance ladder hanging above the tunnel, a flash of tactical smoke grenade dropped directly at Vance's feet.

Hsssss!
Thick, blinding white smoke instantly choked the corridor, obscuring vision and filling the air with acrid gas. Vance coug-hed violently, stumbling backward as his aim went wide.
"Ethan! Grab them and run!" Julian’s voice roared through the intercom.

The burning upper floors, riddled with explosives and gunfire, began to cave inward in a controlled, cataclysmic collapse that buried the corruption of three generations beneath tons of ancient stone and mortar.
Clare stood beside Julian in the dim emergency light of the vault, watching the security feeds go dark one by one as the mansion collapsed.
"It's over," she whispered, sliding down against the concrete wall, tears finally streaming freely down her face. "We have nothing left. No money, no empire, no future."
Julian looked down at her. The billionaire heir, the man who had owned half the city just twenty-four hours ago, felt a profound, indescribable sense of lightness in his chest.
