Chapter 7 - The New HorizonMonday morning at Westridge High felt fundamentally different. The heavy, oppressive atmosphere that had hung over the hallways for years seemed to have vanished, replaced by an electric sense of accountability and student empowerment.

When Jordan walked through the front doors, the usual whispers didn't carry malice or judgment—they carried awe. Students he had never spoken to nodded respectfully, and a few offered genuine smiles of encouragement.

At his locker, Maya Chen leaned against the metal door with a mischievous grin, holding two cartons of strawberry milk.

"Not a bad way to start a Monday, is it?" Maya asked, handing him one of the cartons.

Jordan took it, laughing softly. "I still feel like I'm living inside someone else's movie. I keep waiting for someone to jump out and tell me I'm dreaming."

"No dream, hero," Maya said, bumping her shoulder playfully against his. "Though you do owe me a massive favor for pulling that backup feed before her script wiped the local cache."

"Name your price," Jordan replied easily. "Anything."

"Just promise me you'll ace that AP Chemistry midterm next month," Maya smirked. "Because now that Mrs. Whitmore is gone, the new teacher actually grades fairly, and I don't want to carry our lab group anymore."

As the warning bell rang, echoing down the sunlit corridor, Jordan looked toward the science wing. Room 304's door was propped wide open, a team of technicians inside installing brand-new, transparent, non-hackable digital surveillance systems. The dark days of secret intimidation were over.
