Chapter 13 - The Digital SiegeFor the next six hours, my team and I worked in absolute synergy. Ben deployed custom packet-sniffing scripts to map out every single server node connected to Viktor’s offshore accounts. Clara, utilizing her intimate insider knowledge from her years trapped in the syndicate's periphery, helped identify the true identities of the anonymous backers funding Linda and Nathan.

"Here," Clara pointed a trembling finger at a name on the main monitor. "Jonathan Sterling. He's a billionaire venture capitalist who uses Viktor's syndicate to launder dark-money investments into real estate across the country."

"Sterling," I murmured, tasting the name like ash. "The same Sterling who was invited as a VIP guest to my wedding."

The puzzle pieces clicked into place with horrifying clarity. Sterling hadn't just been a guest; he was the primary investor behind Nathan's campaign to seize my house and company.

"Ben," I said, spinning my chair around. "Are the asset-freezing protocols ready?"

"Fingers on the trigger, Mom," Ben replied, his eyes glued to the dual monitors. "One click, and all twenty-four of Sterling’s shell companies will be flagged by the international banking consortium for systemic money laundering."

"Do it," I commanded softly.

A loud, synchronized ding echoed through the penthouse as twenty-four distinct financial pipelines were severed simultaneously. Across the globe, from Zurich to the Cayman Islands, Sterling’s digital empire froze solid in a matter of seconds.

Almost instantly, my secure satellite phone began ringing violently.

I picked it up on the third ring. It wasn't Viktor this time. It was Jonathan Sterling himself, his voice cracking with sheer, unadulterated panic.

"Sharon! What have you done?! My accounts are frozen! My board is calling an emergency vote! You've ruined me!"

May you like

"Consider it a preemptive wedding gift, Jonathan," I replied smoothly, leaning back in my leather chair. "You tried to steal my home, my savings, and my children’s future. Now, you’re going to experience what true financial ruin feels like. And by the time the federal indictments drop tomorrow morning, you won't even have a lawyer who will take your calls."

"I’ll destroy you!" he screamed through the receiver before I calmly hung up and blocked the number.
