CHAPTER 9 — The Video That Destroyed an Empire

The cemetery exploded into chaos.
Armed federal agents rushed through the fog, surrounding Evelyn's men from every direction.
"Drop your weapons!"
Within seconds, rifles hit the ground.
Evelyn didn't move.
She simply smiled.
"You think you've already won?"
Emily clutched the iron box against her chest.
One FBI agent carefully took the videotape and handed it to a portable media technician.
An old television monitor was brought to the cemetery.
Everyone watched in silence.
The tape began.
Static flickered across the screen...
Then a young woman appeared.
She had the same warm brown eyes as Emily.
The same smile.
The same silver necklace.
Emily burst into tears.
"Mom..."
Elizabeth Harrington looked directly into the camera.
"If you're watching this... I'm probably already dead."
Richard covered his mouth.
"No..."
Elizabeth continued.
"Father... I know who betrayed our family."
She slowly held up a folder.
"It was Evelyn."
Gasps erupted.
The video revealed bank transfers, fake charities, bribed officials, forged wills, and offshore accounts worth billions of dollars.
But then came the final revelation.
Elizabeth looked into the camera with tears in her eyes.
"Evelyn didn't just steal the company..."
"She hired the people who caused the fire that night."
Richard collapsed onto the wet grass.
His own sister...
Had arranged the attack that killed his daughter—or so everyone had believed.
The screen continued.
"If Emily survived..."
"Tell her I never stopped looking for her."
Emily could no longer hold back her tears.
She whispered to the screen,
"I found you, Mom..."
The cemetery fell silent.
Then federal agents turned toward Evelyn.
"Mrs. Harrington..."
"You're under arrest."
Everyone expected her to surrender.
Instead...
She laughed.
Long.
Cold.
Terrifying.
"You still don't understand..."
She slowly reached into her handbag.
Every agent raised their weapons.
Richard shouted,
"Evelyn, don't!"
She pulled out...
Not a gun.
A small remote control.
She pressed the red button.
Far away...
The Harrington mansion erupted into a massive explosion.
Flames shot hundreds of feet into the sky.
Emily screamed.
"The evidence!"
Evelyn smiled triumphantly.
"Now..."
May you like
"There is nothing left."
Or so she thought.
