Chapter 9 - THE UNBREAKABLE VOWThe sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant strokes of purple, orange, and gold.

Inside the clubhouse common room, the long oak dining table was covered in colorful birthday banners, wrapped presents, and a massive two-tier chocolate cake decorated with sugar-crafted figures of a little girl, a tiny puppy, and a very large, muscular pitbull wearing a tiny biker helmet.
Over thirty bikers—men with tattoos, long beards, and rough exteriors—were gathered around the room, laughing, talking, and helping hang streamers. There were no criminal conspiracies here, no roaring engines of escape, and no shadows of fear. There was only family.
Mia walked into the room wearing her favorite yellow dress, holding Buster in her arms while Goliath trotted faithfully at her side, his tail sweeping back and forth against the wooden floorboards.
“Is this all for me?” Mia whispered wide-eyed, looking around the festively decorated hall.
“Every single bit of it, princess,” Big Mike announced, stepping forward and scooping her up into a gentle, effortless hug, swinging her around as she giggled with pure joy. “Happy eighth birthday, Mia.”
The entire room erupted into cheers, applause, and choruses of happy birthday that shook the rafters of the clubhouse.

Mia buried her face into Mike’s shoulder for a brief moment, breathing in the familiar scent of motor oil, leather, and safety. Then she pulled back, looking around at the circle of rough, scarred men who had traded their entire world to keep her safe.
She knew she would never have to hide in a cold, dark garage again. She knew monsters could be defeated, and she knew that true family isn't defined by bloodlines or clean corporate titles—it’s defined by the people who stand in front of you when the storm hits.
