The name struck Antonio like a physical blow. Daniel Rossi wasn't just a random construction worker. He was the master architect who had designed the Moretti estate’s hidden panic rooms—and the man who had secretly tried to warn Antonio that his son’s medical records were being systematically falsified to hide a slow-poisoning campaign directed from within the family.
Daniel hadn't fallen from that Queens building. He had been thrown.
“Your father didn't die by accident,” Antonio said, his voice thick with a lethal, suppressed grief. “And neither did my son.”
Before Elena could process the confession, the heavy glass windows of the study shattered inward.
Crack.
A sniper bullet buried itself deep into the mahogany desk, showering them with splinters.
