Chapter 8 - The Twisted BloodlineElena gasped, her eyes wide with shock. "Aunt Vivienne? You... you died ten years ago in the Alps!"

"A convenient fiction, my dear niece," Vivienne replied smoothly, gesturing for her men to keep their weapons trained on Elena and Alex. "Dying allowed me to operate in the shadows, building the world's most lucrative private intelligence network while your father and Richard Sterling played honorable businessmen."

Alex stepped in front of Elena, his body blocking the laser sight. "What do you mean 'secondary key'?"

Vivienne stepped closer, her heels clicking loudly against the marble floor. "Your father, Richard, and my brother, Arthur, didn't just invent software, Alex. They developed Project Chimera—a bio-digital storage network capable of encoding human consciousness into living cellular structures. Before Richard died in that accident, he encoded the master access codes to the world's offshore banking reserves into your DNA."

She turned her sharp blue eyes toward the hallway where the boys were sleeping. "And when you passed that DNA down to Lucas and Noah, the code duplicated, mutating into an unhackable dual-key system. I don't need to kill your sons, Alex. I just need a bone marrow sample from both of them."

"Over my dead body," Alex hissed, his hands tightening into fists.

"That can easily be arranged," Vivienne said, raising her hand to order her men to fire.

Suddenly, the penthouse lights went completely black.

The deafening sound of shattering glass filled the room as the massive skylight above the living room imploded. Tactical ropes dropped from the ceiling, and four heavily armed figures descended into the darkness, flashbang grenades detonating with blinding white light and disorienting thunders.

"Get down!" Marcus's voice screamed over the chaos.

Alex grabbed Elena, tackling her behind the heavy mahogany dining table as gunfire erupted across the dark room.

Vivienne's guards fired frantically toward the ceiling, but Marcus's elite private security team operated with lethal precision. Within thirty seconds, all three of Vivienne's operatives were neutralized on the floor.

When the emergency lights flickered back on, red backup glow illuminating the room, Vivienne was gone—a broken window leading to the fire escape showing her route of evasion.

Marcus unclipped his night-vision goggles, his face covered in soot. "She escaped down the service elevator shaft. But we tagged her with a micro-tracker."

Elena was shaking, her hands clutching Alex's shirt. "Alex... if she wants their bone marrow... she won't stop. She'll hunt them to the ends of the earth!"

"She won't get the chance," Alex said, his eyes blazing with an absolute, lethal resolve. "We're going to finish this tonight."
