Chapter 5 - LockdownThe prison was placed under Level 5 Lockdown. Armed national guard units were deployed around the perimeter, setting up snipers on the guard towers. The warden had officially declared Kate a high-risk terrorist attempt to justify a kill-on-sight order.

Inside Cell Block B, the lights were cut. Emergency red strobes bathed the dark hallways in blood-colored light.

Kate stood in the center of the block. Surrounding her were thirty of the prison’s toughest inmates, led by Vera. But they weren't holding weapons to attack Kate—they were holding makeshift shields to protect her.

"The Warden is planning to purge the whole block," Vera said, her voice shaking under the flashing red light. "He's calling it a 'riot control accident.' He's going to flood the block with nerve agent to cover up his tracks!"

Kate looked around at the women—convicts, thieves, and outcasts—who had realized that their only chance of surviving the Warden’s corruption was to stand behind the girl they once feared.

"He won't get the chance," Kate said, pulling out a small electronic device she had dismantled from the cafeteria radio. She had rewired it into an EMP frequency jammer. "Vera, get every woman into the laundry chute down to the basement. It’s the only area with a separate ventilation loop."

"What about you?" Vera asked.

"I'm going up." Kate pointed to the ventilation shafts leading directly to the Warden's administrative floor.

Suddenly, the heavy iron doors at the end of the corridor blew inward with an explosive charge! Tactical assault teams in heavy armor stormed the hall, firing non-lethal rubber bullets and tear gas indiscriminately.

Panicked screams filled the corridor.

Kate leaped into action. She vaulted off a steel railing, catching the lead tactical officer mid-air, stripping his flashbang grenade, and pulling the pin before driving him into his squadmates.

BANG!

A blinding light whiteout disoriented the squad. In the confusion, Kate moved like a phantom through the smoke, disarming guards, disabling weapons, and clearing a path for the fleeing inmates.

She wasn't just fighting for survival anymore. She was executing a military siege.

Chapter 5 Hook: As the smoke cleared, the tactical team lay incapacitated. But when the squad commander looked up, Kate had disappeared into the dark shafts above, heading straight for the executive floor.
