Chapter 6 - The Architect’s VaultThe administrative floor was dead silent. The polished marble floors contrasted sharply with the grim, steel reality of the prison below.

Kate dropped from the ceiling vent into the hallway outside the Warden’s office. Her uniform was torn, her face dusted with soot, but her white sneakers remained inexplicably pristine—a striking symbol of her unyielding discipline.

She kicked open the heavy mahogany doors of Warden Thomas’s office.

The room was empty, save for a massive, steel floor safe behind his desk, standing wide open. Papers were scattered across the floor. Thomas had panicked; he was packing his evidence to flee the country.

Kate stepped up to the desk and picked up a glowing laptop. On the screen was a live secure transmission connecting to a shadowy figure in an executive suite downtown: Governor Richard Vance.

The face on the screen sneered as Kate stepped into view.

"Agent Kate Vance," the Governor spoke, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Or should I say... my dear niece."

The air in the room seemed to freeze.

"You've come a long way to avenge your father, Kate," Governor Vance continued coldly. "But you're too late. The master ledger has already been transferred to an offshore cloud server. In five minutes, this entire prison facility will suffer an electrical short circuit that will lock every cell door and ignite the main fuel tanks below Block B. Everyone inside will burn. And the world will think you died in a tragic prison riot."

Kate stared at the screen, her expression unreadable.

"You killed my father because he wouldn't let you turn this state's justice system into a human trafficking market," Kate said, her voice eerily calm.

"I built an empire!" Vance spat back. "And you are just a rogue operative who thinks she can play hero. Goodbye, Kate."

The screen cut to black. A loud electronic countdown initiated on the wall console: 04:59... 04:58...

Chapter 6 Hook: The floor beneath her feet began to vibrate violently as automated fire-doors slammed shut, trapping Kate inside the command unit while smoke began pouring from the air ducts.
