Chapter 15 - The Prison Breakthrough

Claire knew she couldn't rely on civil courts anymore. She was dealing with a cold-blooded killer who held legal keys to her life.

She met secretly with the United States Attorney for the Northern District of California and presented Leah’s testimony, Viktor Vance’s financial evidence, and the recorded phone call.

"We have enough to arrest Arthur for fraud and corporate sabotage," the prosecutor said. "But to charge him with your father’s murder and the Panama trust conspiracy thirty years ago, we need direct eyewitness testimony from someone who was there when the secret deals were made."

"Evan Rowan," Claire said immediately.

The prosecutor arranged an emergency immunity deal. Evan was granted temporary release under heavy federal marshal escort to give a sworn deposition against Arthur Pendelton.

When Evan was brought into the federal deposition room in San Francisco, Arthur was already sitting there with his legal team, looking arrogant and completely unbothered.

"Claire, dear," Arthur smiled smoothly. "This ridiculous circus is wasting company time. You should be resting."

Evan stepped into the room, wearing a dark suit provided by the marshals.

When Arthur saw Evan, his smooth smile flickered for the first time.

"Hello, Arthur," Evan said, his voice cold and steady. "Or should I call you 'Dad'?"

The entire room went dead silent.
