CHAPTER 5 – “The Dead Founder Walked Back Into the Company”

Every executive stood frozen.
The old man in the wheelchair rolled slowly into the boardroom, escorted by two private security officers who answered only to the company’s original founder.
Richard’s face turned ghost white.
“No… that’s impossible.”
The old man smiled faintly.
“You attended my funeral, Richard.”
A heavy silence swallowed the room.
“I never attended your funeral,” Richard whispered.
The founder’s smile vanished.
“No. Because you organized it.”
The investigators immediately surrounded Richard, but the old man raised a hand.
“Not yet.”
He wanted everyone to hear the truth.
Turning toward Emily, his tired eyes softened for the first time.
“You have your grandmother’s eyes.”
Emily struggled to speak.
“Grandpa…?”
Tears welled in the old man’s eyes.
“I wanted to meet you twenty-six years ago.”
Richard suddenly shouted.
“She’s lying! He’s manipulating everyone!”
The founder pressed a button on his wheelchair.
A hidden screen descended from the ceiling.
“Then explain this.”
Security footage appeared.
Twenty-five years earlier.
A much younger Richard was seen entering the founder’s hospital room late at night.
Minutes later…
He walked out carrying a folder marked:
ORIGINAL SHARE CERTIFICATES.
Gasps echoed through the room.
Another video followed.
Richard bribing two lawyers.
Forging signatures.
Threatening board members.
Buying silence.
For twenty-five years…
The empire had never truly belonged to him.
Emily stared at the screen in disbelief.
Everything she had suffered—every humiliation, every impossible promotion denied, every public insult—had been carefully planned.
Richard never wanted her to discover who she really was.
Because the moment she did…
He would lose everything.
Then the founder turned to Emily.
“There’s one more truth.”
“You are not the only heir.”
The room exploded into whispers.
Emily frowned.
“What do you mean?”
May you like
The founder closed his eyes.
“Your mother had another child.”
