CHAPTER 7 – “My Brother Didn’t Want Revenge… He Wanted the Truth.”

The giant screens flickered.
Every employee in Holloway Global stopped working.
Every phone.
Every conference room.
Every television.
The same face appeared.
The mysterious billionaire smiled calmly.
“Hello, Emily.”
“I’m Ethan Carter.”
The boardroom fell into complete silence.
Emily stared at the screen, unable to breathe.
“My brother…”
Ethan nodded.
“Yes.”
“I never died.”
Richard backed away, his hands shaking.
“No…”
“You can’t be here.”
Ethan’s smile disappeared.
“You sold me.”
The words struck the room like thunder.
Emily looked from the screen to Richard.
“What does he mean?”
Ethan answered before Richard could speak.
“When we were six months old, Richard realized Grandfather intended to split the company equally between both heirs.”
“He needed one heir to disappear.”
Richard shouted,
“You know nothing!”
But Ethan continued.
“I was taken from my mother and handed to a criminal network overseas under a false identity.”
Emily covered her mouth in horror.
“I spent years believing I had no family.”
“No name.”
“No past.”
“No future.”
The board members watched in stunned silence.
“I survived because a retired dockworker found me abandoned in a shipping container.”
“He raised me as his own son.”
“I built my fortune not because I wanted to become rich…”
“…but because one day I wanted enough power to ask one question.”
He looked straight into Richard’s terrified eyes.
“Why was my life worth less than your ambition?”
Richard lowered his head.
For the first time…
He had no answer.
Then Ethan smiled at Emily.
“I didn’t return to destroy the company.”
“I came back…”
“…to give my sister the family they stole from us.”
Before anyone could speak, every emergency alarm in the building suddenly began screaming.
A security officer burst into the boardroom.
