CHAPTER 6 – “The Brother Everyone Thought Was Dead”

Emily felt as though the ground disappeared beneath her.
“My mother… had another child?”
The founder nodded slowly.
“A son.”
Richard screamed.
“Stop!”
But nobody listened anymore.
The founder continued.
“Your mother gave birth to twins.”
Emily’s breathing stopped.
“Twins?”
“She begged me to protect both of you.”
The investigators exchanged nervous looks.
One of them quietly placed another file onto the table.
Inside…
Two birth certificates.
Same mother.
Same birthday.
Different names.
Emily Carter.
And…
Ethan Carter.
Emily whispered,
“My brother…”
The founder looked away.
“I failed him.”
Richard suddenly laughed.
Not a laugh of confidence.
A laugh of desperation.
“You’ll never find him.”
Every eye turned toward him.
Richard realized what he had just admitted.
Emily stepped closer.
“You know where he is.”
Richard smiled bitterly.
“No…”
“I know who he became.”
He reached into his jacket and pulled out a worn newspaper clipping.
The headline froze everyone in the room.
"Anonymous Billionaire Purchases Half of Europe’s Largest Tech Companies."
Below the headline was a photograph.
The man's face was partially hidden beneath sunglasses…
…but around his neck hung the exact same silver pendant Emily had worn since childhood.
Richard whispered with a broken smile,
“You've been searching for your brother…”
“…while he has spent the last ten years secretly building an empire to destroy mine.”
At that exact moment, every screen in Holloway Global suddenly went black.
A live video feed appeared.
A man stepped into view.
He removed his sunglasses.
Looked directly into the camera.
Then smiled.
“Hello, Emily.”
May you like
“I've been waiting twenty-six years for this meeting.”
