Chapter 13 - Margaretâs Humiliationđ„ CLICKBAIT TITLE: HIS MOTHER CALLED TO BEG FOR MERCY... BUT MY RESPONSE MADE HER REALIZE HER DYNASTY WAS DEAD FOREVER!

The phone on my desk buzzed persistently, flashing Margaretâs caller ID across the screen.
For thirty seconds, I let it ring. Then, with deliberate slowness, I pressed the speakerphone button.
"Emma! Thank God you answered," Margaretâs voice practically shrieked through the speaker, trembling with a mixture of rage, exhaustion, and absolute terror. "This is an outrage! My lawyers tell me youâve frozen the family trust accounts! Do you have any idea what you're doing? You are destroying decades of hard work!"
"Hard work, Margaret?" I asked calmly, pouring myself a fresh cup of coffee. "Is that what you call living off dividends while covering up your son's moral and financial corruption?"
There was a sharp gasp on the other end of the line.
"Listen to me, you ungrateful littleâ" Margaret started to snap, before catching herself, her tone shifting instantly into a desperate, groveling whine. "Emma, please. Letâs be reasonable. We are family. Daniel made mistakes, yes, but blood is thicker than water. If you restore the trust funds, we can... we can work something out. We can let bygones be bygones."
"Let bygones be bygones?" I let out a soft, dry laugh. "Margaret, at my anniversary dinner twenty-five days ago, you dragged my chair away from the table, banished me to the far end, and watched while your sonâs mistress mocked me in my own home."
"That was a misunderstanding!" Margaret cried out, her voice breaking. "Daniel pressured us! He saidâ"
"Daniel is a grown man who made his bed, and now heâand youâget to lie in it," I interrupted, my voice hardening like steel. "The family trust is legally locked under my administration. Every single asset, every property, and every offshore account has been seized to cover the corporate debts your precious golden boy accumulated."
"You can't do this!" Margaret screamed, losing all remaining composure. "We are the elite! You are nobody! You're just an outsider!"
May you like
"I was an outsider," I corrected her quietly. "Now, I own the roof over your head. In fact, your apartment lease is under review by my property management team as we speak. I suggest you start packing your bags, Margaret. Moving day is tomorrow."
I tapped the screen, disconnecting the call before she could scream another word. The silence that followed was absolute perfection.
