Chapter 6 - The Fall of the Crown PrinceđŸ”„ CLICKBAIT TITLE: HIS FAMILY BEGGED ME FOR MERCY ON THEIR KNEES, BUT I TOLD THEM TO LOOK AT WHO WAS SITTING IN MY CHAIR!

"Emma... please."

Uncle Robert stood up, his face pale, his hands trembling as he walked toward me. The patriarch of the family, usually so proud and dismissive of anyone outside their immediate bloodline, was now looking at me with undisguised terror.

"Emma, let’s not be hasty," Robert stammered, holding his hands out in a placating gesture. "This is a family matter. Surely we can restructure things. Daniel was foolish, yes, but ruining the entire family enterprise over a marital dispute—"

"Marital dispute?" I cut him off sharply, my voice ringing out across the quieted room. "Uncle Robert, eight months ago, when Daniel was draining corporate accounts to buy Claire luxury trips to Paris, did you call it a marital dispute?"

Robert froze, blinking rapidly.

"When Margaret helped Daniel hide assets and gaslit me into thinking I was losing my mind, was that a family matter?" I scanned the room, locking eyes with each of Daniel’s relatives one by one. Not a single person could hold my gaze. They all looked down at their plates, their napkins, their half-empty glasses.

"You all knew," I whispered, the cold fury in my voice making several people flinch. "Every single one of you sat at my dinner table, accepted my hospitality, smiled at my face, and laughed behind my back while you let this pathetic little parasite take my place."

Margaret burst into tears, covering her face with her hands—not out of sorrow for her son, but out of pure, unadulterated self-pity as she realized her luxurious lifestyle, funded by Vanguard Holdings, was about to evaporate overnight.

"And now," I continued, stepping back and smoothing down the front of my dress, "you expect me to show mercy?"

May you like

I pointed one finger at the far end of the table—the miserable, isolated seat Margaret had banished me to just twenty minutes earlier.

"You wanted me at the end of the table," I said quietly. "You wanted me marginalized, humiliated, and invisible. Well, congratulations. I am leaving the table entirely. But make no mistake... I am taking the table, the restaurant, the building, and the roof over your heads with me."
