Chapter 1 - The Blood-Stained Truth

VIRAL TITLE: "You Told Me She Was Dead!" — The Moment the Billionaire Discovered His Stepmother’s Sickest Lie! đŸ˜±đŸ”„

The silence in the marble foyer was louder than a gunshot.

Ethan’s eyes burned into the crumpled ultrasound photo in Maya’s trembling hands. The date on the scan was from four months ago—the exact week his stepmother, Victoria, had handed him a forged death certificate and a fake ash urn, telling him his pregnant secret lover had taken her own life.

“Ethan, darling, listen to me,” Victoria purred, stepping between Ethan and the girl kneeling in spilled porridge. Victoria smoothed her pristine ivory suit, her tone shifting seamlessly from cruel to maternal. “She’s a gold-digger. She framed this whole scene. She threw the porridge on herself the second she heard your car pull into the driveway!”

Ethan didn’t say a word. He walked past Victoria as if she were made of thin air.

He dropped to his knees right into the sticky mess on the floor, uncaring that his $10,000 tailored suit was being ruined. With agonizing gentleness, he reached out and cupped Maya’s tear-stained face.

“Maya
” his voice cracked, raw with months of unexpressed grief. “I searched every river. I almost ended my own life because I thought I lost you both.”

Maya sobbed, her hand clutching his lapel. “She kept me locked in the East Wing servant quarters
She said if I tried to reach you, she’d make sure our baby never saw the light of day.”

Victoria’s posture stiffened. Sensing the tide turning against her, she clicked her heels and crossed her arms. “Enough of this melodrama! Maya, you are fired. Get out of my house before I call security for trespassing!”

“This isn’t your house, Victoria,” Ethan said softly, his voice dripping with lethal coldness. He stood up, pulling Maya carefully into his arms, sheltering her swollen belly against his chest. “My father’s will was explicitly clear. I inherit the estate on my thirty-first birthday
 which was midnight last night.”

Victoria’s face went dead white.

“You have five minutes to get out,” Ethan snapped, his eyes flashing with vengeance.

Victoria sneered, recovering her arrogance. “You think you’ve won, Ethan? You have no idea what game you’re playing. That girl isn’t carrying your child—and if you check her medical records, you’ll realize you’ve been loving a ghost!”

Before Ethan could demand an explanation, Victoria turned on her high heels and marched out, leaving a terrifying riddle lingering in the air.
