Chapter 7 - The Final Trap

VIRAL TITLE: The Police Sirens Arrived⊠But They Werenât There to Arrest Victoria! đâĄ
CLANG!
Before Victoria could strike Ethan, a gunshot cracked through the storm.
Victoria gasped, dropping the heavy wrench. She stumbled backward, clutching her shoulder, blood seeping through her ivory suit, which was now ruined, torn, and stained with dirt and mudâjust like Mayaâs uniform on the day this nightmare began.
Dozens of police cars swarmed the estate grounds, red and blue lights flashing against the falling rain. Marcus, Ethanâs head of security, stepped out of the lead police cruiser, holding a smoking sniper rifle.
âDrop your weapons!â SWAT officers shouted, surrounding Victoria and her remaining men.
Victoria fell to her knees in the mud, weeping hysterically as handcuffs clicked around her wrists. âYou canât arrest me! I am the lady of this house! I own this estate!â
âNot anymore,â a calm, authoritative voice called out from behind the police lines.
An elderly man in a wheelchair was rolled forward by two federal agents.
Ethanâs eyes widened in absolute shock. The blood drained from his face as he stared at the man in the wheelchair.
