Chapter 2 - The Public Unmasking

Instead of walking down the aisle, Daniel marched straight to the audio technician’s booth near the back of the hall. The young sound engineer looked up, startled, as Daniel reached into his pocket and handed him the black USB drive.
"Plug this into the main sound system," Daniel commanded.
"Daniel, what is this?" Rebecca’s voice echoed across the room as she marched down the aisle behind him, her veil billowing. "Are you out of your mind? Is this some kind of sick prank?"
The sound technician hesitated, looking between the groom and the furious bride. "Sir, I—"
"Plug it in now," Daniel repeated, his voice booming across the quiet hall.
Confused whispers erupted among the guests. Rebecca rushed forward to grab the laptop, but Daniel stepped between her and the sound booth. The technician, frightened by the tension, inserted the drive and clicked the primary file.
High-definition audio blasted through the ballroom’s surround-sound speakers.
“You should have stayed out of this!” Rebecca’s voice echoed around the room, loud, crisp, and terrifyingly clear.
The guests gasped. Rebecca froze, her face draining of all color.
“My father deserves to know what you’re doing!” Emily’s voice cried out over the speakers.

Then came the sound of the violent slap, the shatter of glass, and Rebecca’s ice-cold statement: “By the time Daniel understands, his money will already be mine.”
The ballroom dead-silenced. Rebecca looked around at ninety horrified faces. Her mask had completely slipped.
