Chapter 5 - The Clue in the Toy

While the police interrogated Rebecca in a back office, she refused to speak, sitting silently with a smug smirk, knowing time was running out for Emily.
Daniel sat in the hallway, holding a terrified Noah on his lap. "Noah, think carefully, buddy. Did Mommy say anything else before you left?"
Noah rubbed his eyes, his little hands shaking. "Mommy gave me the black stick. She said give it to Grandpa."
"Did you see where she went?" Daniel asked gently. "Did she see a house or a room?"

Noah looked down at his little jacket pocket. He reached deep into the lining, past where the flash drive had been, and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper—a torn receipt from a local gas station. On the back, written in Emily’s shaky handwriting with what looked like lipstick, were numbers: 44.2109, -85.6012.
"GPS coordinates," Detective Jenkins said, snatching the paper. "She managed to write down the location before they moved her!"
