CHAPTER 3 — Two Years Later... She Walked In As His New Boss

Exactly two years after signing the divorce papers...

A convoy of black luxury vehicles stopped outside Crawford Technologies headquarters.

Employees rushed toward the windows.

"Who's coming?"

"Is that a government delegation?"

"No..."

"The new majority shareholder."

Inside the executive boardroom, Ethan adjusted his expensive tie with confidence.

The company had received an acquisition offer worth $11.6 billion.

He planned to reject it.

"No one buys my company," he said proudly.

The board members nodded.

Then the doors opened.

The room fell completely silent.

High heels echoed across the marble floor.

One...

Two...

Three...

Olivia walked in wearing a tailored black suit.

Her confidence transformed the entire room.

Behind her stood international attorneys.

Investment bankers.

Security personnel.

And Eleanor Blackwood.

Ethan blinked.

"...Olivia?"

Victoria nearly dropped her tablet.

"No..."

"That's impossible."

Olivia placed a leather folder on the conference table.

"Good morning."

"My name is Olivia Carter."

"Chairwoman of Blackwood Global Holdings."

"I believe..."

"I now own 67.4% of Crawford Technologies."

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

The lead attorney calmly distributed documents.

Every share purchase.

Every merger.

Every legal approval.

Every signature.

Perfectly executed.

One elderly board member slowly stood.

"According to corporate law..."

"...Mr. Crawford is no longer CEO."

Ethan laughed nervously.

"This is a joke."

"It has to be."

The attorney shook his head.

"No, sir."

"The board has already voted."

"Eight in favor."

"One against."

Victoria looked around in horror.

Everyone had switched sides.

The people who once praised Ethan...

Now avoided eye contact.

Security entered the room.

"Mr. Crawford."

"We've been instructed to escort you from the executive floor."

His face turned pale.

"You can't do this!"

"I built this company!"

Olivia looked directly into his eyes.

"So did I."

"For twelve years."

"You simply erased my name."

Ethan's voice cracked.

"Olivia... please."

"I made mistakes."

"I was arrogant."

"Give me another chance."

The room waited.

Everyone expected revenge.

Humiliation.

The same cruelty Ethan had once shown her.

Instead...

Olivia smiled.

"No."

"I won't destroy your life."

She slid one final envelope across the table.

Inside was a job offer.

Position:

Junior Project Assistant.

Annual salary:

Exactly...

Fifty thousand dollars.

The same amount he once offered her during the divorce.

The entire room fell silent.

Ethan stared at the paper with shaking hands.

Olivia stood to leave.

Just before reaching the door, she turned around one final time.

"You once told me..."

"'Love isn't an investment.'"

She paused.

"You were right."

"But kindness always is."

"And today..."

"It finally paid its dividends."

She walked away without looking back.

Months later...

Crawford Technologies became part of Blackwood Global.

Thousands of employees received better salaries.

Workers gained profit-sharing.

Scholarship programs were created for struggling students.

The company flourished more than ever before.

As for Ethan...

He declined the job offer.

Within a year, he had lost nearly everything.

Not because Olivia ruined him...

But because the people who admired his success disappeared the moment his power was gone.

Only then did he understand the truth.

May you like

He had never lost his company.

He had lost the one person who was worth more than all of it.
