CHAPTER 9 – The Billionaire's Last Order

The helicopter circled above the cabin like a predator.

Its searchlight cut through the storm as dozens of armed men closed in from every direction.

Nathan looked at Adrian.

"There are too many."

Adrian nodded grimly.

"They're not here to arrest us."

"They're here to erase us."

Suddenly, loudspeakers echoed through the forest.

Richard Crawford's cold voice filled the night.

"Nathan!"

"You have one minute."

"Hand over the memory card... and I might let your mother live."

Nathan stepped outside onto the rain-soaked porch.

"You've lied to me my entire life!"

Richard slowly emerged from a black SUV, holding an umbrella while his bodyguards surrounded him.

"I didn't lie."

"I created your future."

Nathan laughed bitterly.

"You stole it."

Richard's face hardened.

"I made you a billionaire."

"I made you respected."

"I made you untouchable."

Nathan shook his head.

"You made me live someone else's life."

Richard sighed.

"You still don't understand."

He snapped his fingers.

A second SUV arrived.

The rear door opened.

Out stepped...

Sophia.

Her hands were tied.

Her face bruised.

Nathan's heart stopped.

"Sophia!"

Richard smiled.

"I knew you'd come running if I brought the woman you love."

Sophia cried out,

"Don't listen to him!"

"He already has another copy of the evidence!"

Nathan froze.

"What?"

Richard laughed.

"You really thought everything depended on one memory card?"

He pulled a thick folder from his briefcase.

"There are hundreds of people connected to this."

"Judges."

"Politicians."

"CEOs."

"If I fall..."

"They all fall."

Then Richard lifted a remote detonator.

"You know what's underneath this cabin?"

Adrian's eyes widened.

"No..."

Richard smiled.

"Explosives."

"I buried them years ago."

May you like

"If I can't keep my empire..."

"No one walks away."
