Chapter 4 - BLOOD DOESN'T LIE

💔 THE CHILLING REVEAL: "They Are Not Your Children, Alejandro. They Are My Heirs." 💔The glamorous garden had transformed into a psychological war zone. The string quartet had long since packed up their instruments, slipping away to avoid the wrath of the billionaires. The elite guests stood frozen, captivated by the most spectacular downfall in the history of high society.

Alejandro, realizing his financial salvation was completely gone, looked at the two children standing beside Valeria. Desperation is a dangerous thing; it makes a man grasp at straws even when he's drowning in an ocean of his own making.

A sick, calculating look crept into Alejandro’s eyes. If Valeria owned Phoenix Capital, then she was worth hundreds of millions. And those children... those children were biologically his. Under Mexican family law, as the biological father, he could sue for joint custody. He could demand alimony, a share of her wealth to raise his "beloved children," or at the very least, use them as leverage to force her to drop the debt foreclosure.

He forced a grotesque, tearful smile onto his face and dropped to his knees in front of the twins.

"My babies..." Alejandro whimpered, reaching his hands out toward the boy and the girl. "I didn't know... I swear I didn't know about you. Your mother hid you from me. Look at me, I'm your daddy!"

The little boy, Mateo, didn't flinch. He stepped firmly in front of his sister, Valentina, shielding her with his small frame. He looked down at Alejandro with an icy glare that was a carbon copy of Valeria's.

"You're not our daddy," Mateo said, his voice remarkably steady for a four-year-old. "Our mommy told us about the man who threw her in the rain. She said he was a coward who traded his family for plastic gold."

The crowd gasped. The words of a child cut deeper than any legal document.

Alejandro’s face twisted in anger, but he forced himself to stay controlled. He looked up at Valeria, his voice turning malicious. "You can poison their minds all you want, Valeria! But blood doesn't lie! I am their father. We were legally married when they were conceived! I have parental rights! I will drag you through every court in this country, I will take half of your empire, and I will take custody of these kids if you don't drop this foreclosure right now!"

Isabella, seeing a twisted way out, chimed in, "Yes! He is the father! You hid his children from him! That’s illegal! We will take your kids away from you, you crazy bitch!"

Valeria didn't panic. In fact, she let out a soft, melodic laugh that sent shivers down Alejandro’s spine.

"Parental rights, Alejandro?" Valeria asked, tilting her head. "You really should have checked your mail more carefully over the last few years."

She reached back into the leather portfolio held by her assistant and pulled out a certified court decree bearing the official stamp of the Federal Family Bureau.

"Four years ago, while you were busy living on Isabella's credit cards, I filed a formal petition for total termination of paternal rights based on willful abandonment and fraud," Valeria explained calmly. "Because you legally changed your residency to a shell corporation address in Panama to evade taxes and your previous debts, the court served you via public publication. You failed to respond for three consecutive years."

She tossed the document at his feet. It landed right in front of his knees.

"As of fourteen months ago, your legal status regarding these children is absolutely non-existent. Legally, biologically, and financially, they carry only the Montenegro bloodline. They are not your children, Alejandro. They are my heirs. And you are nothing but a ghost from a past I’ve already erased."

Alejandro snatched the paper, reading the legal jargon as his world completely collapsed. It was ironclad. Signed by a supreme court justice. He had no rights. He had no leverage. He had nothing.

But Valeria wasn't done.

"And speaking of bloodlines and lies..." Valeria turned her piercing gaze to Isabella, who was still glaring at her with venom. "You might want to ask your beautiful bride about the true nature of her own 'heir' that she’s supposedly carrying."

Isabella’s face suddenly turned from angry red to a ghostly, horrifying white. She froze, her hand instinctively dropping from her stomach.

Alejandro blinked, his head spinning. "What... what are you talking about? Isabella is two months pregnant with my child! That’s why we moved the wedding forward!"

Valeria smiled, looking past Alejandro toward the back of the crowd, where Alejandro's best friend and business partner, Rodrigo, was quietly trying to slip away toward the parking lot.

"Rodrigo!" Valeria called out, her voice cutting through the evening air like a siren. "Don't leave yet. The party is just getting started, and your medical records from the Polanco Fertility Clinic are about to become public knowledge."
