Chapter 7 - THE TRUE MASTERMIND REVEALED

👑 THE SHOCKING ENDING: The Final Secret Valeria Kept from Everyone Until the Very Last Second! 👑Three months later.
The corporate landscape of Mexico had been entirely rewritten. The Garza Group was a distant memory, its hotels rebranded under the ultra-luxury banner of the Montenegro Syndicate. Carlos Garza was serving a ten-year sentence for financial fraud, while Isabella and Rodrigo were tied up in endless legal battles, living in a cramped, rented apartment in the outskirts of the city, surviving on minimum wage and mutual hatred.
Alejandro had hit absolute rock bottom. He was living in a run-down boarding house in the Doctores district—the exact same neighborhood where he had abandoned Valeria. He spent his days working as a low-level warehouse laborer, his hands calloused, his back aching, earning just enough to buy bread and water. Every single day, he had to look at the massive billboards towering over the city skyline, featuring Valeria’s face as the newly crowned Businesswoman of the Year.
One rainy evening, as Alejandro walked home from his shift, a sleek, black town car pulled up beside him.
The window rolled down, and a man in a sharp suit looked out. "Alejandro Garza? Someone wishes to see you."
Alejandro’s heart leaped into his throat. Valeria. Had she finally relented? Was she going to offer him a settlement? Did she miss him?
He eagerly climbed into the back seat, ignoring the dirt he was tracking onto the leather. The car drove deep into the exclusive business district of Santa Fe, stopping outside the towering glass skyscraper that served as the global headquarters of Phoenix Capital Holdings.
He was escorted up to the top floor, the penthouse executive suite. The office was vast, overlooking the glittering lights of the city. Standing by the floor-to-ceiling glass window, looking out over the empire she had built, was Valeria.
She looked more radiant than ever, wearing a simple, flawless cream-colored power suit.
"Valeria..." Alejandro gasped, taking a step forward, his voice trembling with a mixture of awe and desperation. "You called for me? I knew it... I knew you couldn't completely forget what we had. Look at me, I've changed. I'm humble now. I know what it's like to have nothing. Please, let me be a part of your life again. Even if it's just to see the children from a distance..."
Valeria turned around slowly. Her expression wasn't angry; it was entirely empty. To her, he was nothing more than a bug preserved in amber—a specimen of a past life.
"I didn't call you here to give you money, Alejandro," Valeria said softly, sitting down behind her massive mahogany desk. "And you will never see my children again. I called you here to close the final loop of this story. Because there is one thing you still don't understand about how your life fell apart."
Alejandro blinked, confused. "What do you mean? You bought the debt. You exposed Isabella. It was your revenge."
"Revenge is a clumsy word," Valeria murmured, leaning back. "Let me tell you a secret, Alejandro. Do you remember five years ago, when you suddenly received a twenty-million-dollar investment from an anonymous angel investor for your first logistics company? The investment that made you feel so successful that you thought you were too good for a cashier?"
Alejandro’s eyes widened. "Yes... that was the investment that started everything! That's how I met Carlos Garza!"
"That anonymous investor was a front company called V.M. Management," Valeria said, a cold, brilliant smile spreading across her face. "V.M. Valeria Montenegro. I didn't build my empire after you left me, Alejandro. I had already built the foundation of it while we were together. I inherited a massive trust from my maternal grandfather, a reclusive investor from Monterrey, just six months before you kicked me out."
The air left Alejandro’s lungs. He stumbled back against the wall. "You... you were already rich?"
"I wanted to see if you loved me, or if you loved money," Valeria explained, her voice cutting like a scalpel. "I pretended to be a simple cashier to see if we could build a real, honest life together based on love and trust. I was planning to surprise you with the truth on our anniversary. But instead, the moment a flashier option appeared, you threw me and your unborn children out onto a flooded sidewalk."
She leaned forward, her eyes locking onto his soul.
"Every single dollar you spent over the last five years—the luxury clothes, the fancy cars, the investments you thought made you a genius—it was all my money, channeled through shell companies to build up your ego. I didn't just catch you in a trap at your wedding, Alejandro. I built the trap. I financed your entire illusion of success just so I could pull the rug out from under you at the exact moment you felt highest."
Alejandro felt his knees give out. He fell to the floor of the beautiful office, staring at her in absolute terror.
He hadn't been ruined by an ex-wife who got lucky. He had been a puppet in her grand design from the very first day he chose greed over loyalty. She had given him everything just to make the fall hurt infinitely more.
"Now," Valeria said, standing up and smoothing her jacket. "The story is completely finished. You can go back to your boarding house in Doctores, Alejandro. Every time it rains, and every time you look up at these skyscrapers, you will remember that you had the entire world in the palm of your hand... and you threw it away because you couldn't tell the difference between a glass bead and a diamond."
She turned her back to him, looking back out at the city.
"Security," Valeria commanded coldly. "Remove this man from my sight. Forever."
Two massive guards entered, grabbing Alejandro by his worn coat and dragging him screaming and sobbing out of the executive suite, down the elevator, and throwing him out into the cold, pouring rain of the city streets.

As he lay on the wet asphalt, looking up at the towering glass fortress of Phoenix Capital, Alejandro finally realized the absolute, terrifying truth:
The queen had won. The traitor was broken. And justice had been served with absolute, cold-blooded perfection.
