CHAPTER 8 – The Vault's Final Truth

At sunrise, Emma finally stood before the enormous steel vault.

Two biometric scanners slowly emerged beside the massive door.

A mechanical voice echoed through the valley.

"Founder authentication required."

Victor smiled weakly.

"It still recognizes me..."

He placed his trembling hand on the scanner.

The machine flashed green.

Emma placed her own hand beside his.

ACCESS GRANTED.

With a deafening roar, the vault door slowly opened.

Inside...

There were no mountains of gold.

No stacks of cash.

No priceless diamonds.

Only shelves filled with thousands of sealed files.

Hard drives.

Encrypted servers.

And one small black safe sitting alone in the center of the room.

Emma frowned.

"This... this is everything?"

Victor nodded.

"The Hale fortune was spent years ago."

"The world believed I became one of the richest men alive."

"The truth is..."

"I used every dollar to build evidence."

Emma looked confused.

"Evidence against who?"

Victor walked toward the black safe.

Inside was a single flash drive.

Across it was one handwritten label.

THE FOUNDERS.

Victor's voice trembled.

"Thirty years ago, twelve of the world's most powerful billionaires secretly created an organization."

"They controlled elections."

"They started financial crashes."

"They bought judges."

"They erased people who became inconvenient."

Emma couldn't believe what she was hearing.

"And Daniel knew?"

Victor nodded.

"His father wasn't just a businessman."

"He was one of them."

Suddenly...

A slow clap echoed through the vault.

Everyone turned.

Standing in the shadows was Daniel.

Dirty.

Bleeding.

But smiling.

He wasn't alone.

More than twenty armed men in black tactical gear stepped out behind him.

Daniel slowly applauded Emma.

"Congratulations."

"You finally opened the vault for us."

Emma's face turned white.

"You survived..."

Daniel grinned.

"I told you..."

"This was never about money."

He raised a small remote control.

"Now..."

"Let's see what happens when the only evidence against the most powerful people on Earth disappears forever."

His thumb hovered over the red button.

And Emma realized...

May you like

The vault wasn't just a safe.

It was a bomb.
