Chapter 10 - The Unbroken CircleThe sun was setting over the harbor, painting the sky in shades of deep amber and violet as my private town car pulled up to the estate gates.

I stepped out of the vehicle, my legs aching with a deep, burning fatigue, but holding my weight as I walked up the marble steps of the grand entrance, leaning lightly on my cane. Tessa walked beside me, carrying the evening briefing files.

Inside, the house was warm, quiet, and entirely mine.

"You know," Tessa said, pausing near the foyer as she set her briefcase down, "when I washed your back six months ago, I didn't think I'd end up running your corporate logistics."

I stopped, turning to face her. The dark circles under her eyes were gone, replaced by a sharp, radiant confidence that completely transformed her.

"You didn't just run my logistics, Tessa," I said quietly. "You reminded me of what real loyalty looks like in a world full of shadows."

She smiled softly, a genuine, unhurried expression. "Well, twenty-five dollars an hour buys a lot of dedication, Mr. Corvino. But five hundred dollars an hour buys absolute loyalty."

"Good," I replied, extending my hand toward her. "Because I have a feeling we’re just getting started."

She took my hand, her grip firm, warm, and steady.

The engagement ring Arya left behind on the vanity had long since been melted down and sold off for scrap metal, its value repurposed to fund a medical foundation for families who couldn't afford care. I didn't need reminders of the past. I didn't need people who waited for me to fall.

I had my empire back. I had my legs back. And for the first time in my life, I had someone standing beside me who didn't care about my name, my money, or my power—only the person I chose to become when the ground fell out from under me.
