Chapter 11 - The Ghost of the HarborThe morning fog rolled heavy off the shipping lanes, pressing against the floor-to-ceiling windows of my penthouse office. Three weeks had passed since I reclaimed my seat at the head of the boardroom, and the shockwaves of my return were still rippling through the underworld of international logistics.

Tessa stood by the desk, placing a fresh cup of black coffee next to my laptop before sliding a heavy, manila envelope across the polished mahogany.
"The federal audit on Dominic’s shell companies cleared this morning," Tessa said, her voice crisp and professional. "Every hidden asset he and Arya accumulated has been seized. But that's not why I brought this file up."
I opened the folder. Inside were photographs of a rundown warehouse in the industrial district, alongside financial wire receipts dated two days ago.
"Someone else was funding Dominic’s legal fees," I noted, my eyes narrowing as I scanned a signature at the bottom of the wire transfer. "A silent partner. Someone with enough liquidity to bypass our banking filters."
"More than a silent partner," Tessa replied, tapping a finger on a photograph of a shadowy figure stepping out of a black sedan near the warehouse. "That's Marcus Vance’s brother, Julian. He runs the syndicate out in the western docks. And Vincent... they aren't just trying to contest the corporate takeover anymore."
I looked up, my jaw tightening. "They're coming for the physical supply lines."
"Tonight at midnight," Tessa confirmed. "They’re intercepting the primary cargo shipment coming in from Singapore. If they hijack those containers, they cripple our distribution network before the quarterly review."

I stood up, gripping my carbon-fiber cane. My legs still ached with a dull, persistent burn, but the titanium braces held firm. I had spent six months locked in a bedroom while cowards plotted my demise. It was time to show them what happened when a wounded predator stepped back into the wild.
"Get the security detail ready," I said, my voice dropping into a cold, lethal register. "And Tessa? Clear my schedule for tonight. We’re going to the docks."
