CHAPTER 6 — The Billionaire's Greatest Sacrifice
Lily gasped the moment she recognized the wedding ring.
"My dad..."
Michael smiled.
"Oh, he's alive."
Emma lunged toward him.
"You monster! Where is Daniel?"
Michael casually slipped the ring into his pocket.
"Some secrets are worth billions."
He nodded to his men.
They surrounded Robert, Emma, and Lily within seconds.
Robert quietly whispered to Lily,
"Whatever happens... don't let him have the silver key."
Michael heard him.
"So that's where it is."
He walked toward Lily.
The little girl stepped backward, holding the key tighter.
"You'll have to take it from me."
Michael laughed.
"You have your father's courage."
Then he revealed the truth.
"The key isn't for money."
Everyone froze.
"It unlocks the final server containing proof that I stole Daniel's company... and evidence that several powerful politicians and investors helped me cover it up."
Emma looked horrified.
"So that's why you've hunted us."
Michael smiled.
"Exactly."
He reached for Lily—
Suddenly...
A gunshot echoed through the vault.
Everyone turned.
One of Michael's bodyguards collapsed.
Standing in the doorway was a tall man with messy hair, a scar across his face, and tired blue eyes.
He lowered the smoking pistol.
"Lily..."
The little girl burst into tears.
"Daddy..."
Daniel Carter was finally home.
But before father and daughter could embrace...
Daniel slowly raised both hands.
Dozens of red laser sights appeared across his chest.
Michael laughed.
"I knew you'd come."
Daniel looked at Lily one last time.
Then he quietly said,
"If only one of us walks out today... it has to be my daughter."
