CHAPTER 4 — The Woman They Said Died... Left One Final Message
Daniel couldn't breathe.
His knees nearly gave out.
"My wife... was murdered?"
Victor laughed as federal agents rushed toward him.
"You'll never prove it."
Before they could handcuff him, Victor shouted across the cabin,
"The evidence is gone! Burned five years ago!"
But Emily suddenly stepped forward.
"No..."
"I saved that too."
Everyone turned toward her.
Emily slowly reached into Noah's diaper bag and removed a tiny silver flash drive taped beneath the lining.
"I've carried this every single day for five years."
Victor's confident smile disappeared.
Emily continued,
"The night your wife discovered the newborn trafficking operation, she secretly copied every hospital file."
"She knew someone inside the Carter family was involved."
"So she gave the evidence to me."
Daniel stared at the flash drive in disbelief.
"My wife trusted... you?"
Emily nodded through tears.
"She knew she wouldn't survive."
Daniel felt his heart shatter.
His wife hadn't died helplessly.
She had died fighting to save their son.
Moments later, federal investigators connected the flash drive to a secure laptop.
The first video appeared on the screen.
Hospital security footage.
Daniel watched his wife holding newborn Noah, smiling through tears.
Minutes later...
Victor entered the room.
He handed an envelope to the hospital director.
A nurse carried Noah away while Daniel's exhausted wife begged,
"Please... where are you taking my baby?"
The doctor calmly injected something into her IV.
Within seconds...
She lost consciousness.
Gasps filled the airplane.
Then a second video played.
Victor's voice echoed clearly.
"Tell the father the baby died."
"No body."
"No questions."
"I'll handle the paperwork."
Daniel's hands began shaking uncontrollably.

Every funeral.
Every tear.
Every lonely night.
It had all been planned.
But then the investigators opened the final file.

Over one hundred newborns had been sold.

Politicians.
Celebrities.

Emily looked at Daniel with terror in her eyes.
