CHAPTER 5 – The Twin Who Stole A Life

Emily couldn't stop staring at the television.
The woman looked exactly like her mother.
The same smile.
The same voice.
The same eyes.
But Daniel whispered again, almost unable to breathe.
"Her name is Olivia..."
"My wife's twin sister."
Emily froze.
"I... I have an aunt?"
"No," Grandmother Eleanor cried. "Not anymore."
Twenty-five years earlier, Olivia had vanished the night before her wedding. The family announced that she had died in a tragic car accident.
There had never been a funeral.
No body.
No investigation.
Everyone accepted the story.
Everyone... except Daniel.
"I always knew something was wrong," he said. "Your mother received letters for years from someone she refused to tell me about."
Marcus began clapping slowly.
"Congratulations."
"You've finally solved the easiest part of the puzzle."
Emily turned toward him.
"What do you mean?"
Marcus smiled.
"Olivia didn't disappear."
"She made a deal."
He pressed another button on the remote.
A hidden steel door opened beneath the grand staircase.
Everyone gasped.
From the darkness emerged armed security guards...
Escorting Olivia herself.
Not on a television.
Not a recording.
She was standing inside the mansion.
Alive.
Emily rushed toward her.
"You know my mother!"
Instead of hugging her...
Olivia slapped Emily across the face.
"You should've left that box closed."
The room fell silent.
Then Olivia looked directly at Daniel.
May you like
"You came back twenty-three years too late."
"And now she'll die just like her mother."
