CHAPTER 6 – The DNA Test That Destroyed The Carter Family
Before anyone could react, armed guards surrounded the entire family.
Marcus locked every exit.
"No one leaves."
Olivia calmly walked to the fireplace and picked up a sealed envelope.
"I've waited decades for this moment."
She handed it to Emily.
Inside was a certified DNA report.
Emily's hands trembled as she read the first line.
Probability of maternity: 99.99%.
She looked confused.
Then she read the names.
Mother: Olivia Carter.
Not...
Sarah Carter.
Emily stared in disbelief.
"This... this is fake."
Olivia shook her head.
"No."
"The woman who raised you wasn't your biological mother."
"She was protecting you."
Daniel stepped backward as though the floor had disappeared beneath him.
"What are you saying?"
Olivia's eyes filled with tears for the first time.
"The night Emily was born..."
"Someone came to kill my baby."
"So Sarah and I switched our daughters."
Emily felt the room spinning.
Everything she had believed about her life...
Her parents...
Her identity...
Collapsed in a single moment.
Grandmother Eleanor suddenly screamed.
"Run, Emily!"

A gunshot echoed through the mansion.
BANG!
Daniel fell to the floor.
Blood spread across his white shirt.
Emily rushed toward him, sobbing.
He grabbed her hand with his final strength and whispered five chilling words:
"Find... the second... wooden box..."
His hand went limp.
But before his eyes closed completely...
He looked past Emily.
His expression filled with absolute terror.
Someone else had just entered the mansion.
Someone none of them had expected to see.

"You're all telling the wrong story."
