Lucas had lunged forward, tackling Arthur’s bodyguard into the glass display case as chaos erupted in the mansion corridor. "Aria, run!" he roared, taking a bullet to the shoulder as he held off the mercenaries with his bare hands.

Aria didn't hesitate. Grabbing Leo and the folder of documents, she bolted through the secret passage behind the study bookcase—a hidden getaway route she had discovered as a child.

She burst into the rainy night, her feet bare, blood dripping from minor glass cuts, her chest burning as she ran toward the estate gates. A waiting black sedan pulled up beside her, the rear door sliding open.

"Get in if you want to live!" a sharp voice commanded from inside the car.

Aria looked inside. Sitting in the backseat, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit under a trench coat, was Victoria Vance. She had escaped police custody.
