CHAPTER 3 – The Groom’s Real Name

Ryan’s face went white as he read the DNA report again.
The woman in blue stepped closer.
“Your name was never Ryan Whitmore.”
The entire ballroom gasped.
Emily clutched her wedding dress, shaking.
“No… no, she’s lying!”
But Ryan didn’t look at Emily anymore.
He looked at his mother, Patricia Whitmore.
“Mom… tell me this isn’t true.”
Patricia’s champagne glass slipped from her hand and shattered.
For twenty-nine years, she had protected one secret.
She had not given birth to Ryan.
She had stolen him.
The woman in blue’s voice trembled for the first time.
“My real son was taken from me the night your family destroyed my name.”
Ryan staggered back as if the floor had disappeared beneath him.
Emily whispered, “Ryan, please…”
He turned slowly.
“You knew?”
May you like
Her silence answered everything.
And in that moment, the wedding became a trial.
