CHAPTER 8 – The Brother Who Became an Enemy

Three days later...

Ryan refused to ignore the message.

Against Isabella's wishes, he followed the only clue hidden in the anonymous text.

An abandoned lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Rain crashed against the rocks as Ryan climbed the spiral staircase alone.

At the top...

A man stood facing the sea.

Without turning around, he spoke.

"You finally came."

Ryan froze.

The voice sounded eerily familiar.

The stranger slowly turned.

It was like looking into a mirror.

Same face.

Same eyes.

Same height.

Only the scar above his eyebrow distinguished him.

"I'm Noah," the man said.

"Or at least... that's the name they gave me."

Ryan stepped forward.

"My brother..."

Noah raised a pistol.

"Don't call me that."

"You grew up with a mansion."

"I grew up being sold from one foster home to another."

"You had birthday parties."

"I learned how to survive."

Ryan slowly lowered his hands.

"I didn't know."

"I know," Noah replied.

"That's why I don't hate you."

Ryan exhaled with relief.

Then Noah smiled.

"But I do hate the family that stole everything from us."

He tossed Ryan a folder.

Inside were secret financial records proving that the Whitmore empire had continued committing crimes for decades—even after Patricia's theft.

The final page revealed something even darker.

Patricia Whitmore hadn't acted alone.

Someone still alive had orchestrated the entire conspiracy...

Someone wealthier.

Someone more powerful.

Someone the world believed had died twenty years ago.

Just then, a black helicopter appeared above the lighthouse.

The side door slid open.

An elderly man stepped into view.

Ryan's heart stopped.

It was William Whitmore...

The grandfather everyone believed was too weak to even walk.

He looked directly at the twins and smiled coldly.

"I never expected both of my grandsons to survive."

May you like

Then he gave a single order.

"Take them both."
