CHAPTER 8 – Ryan's Final Game

The detective slowly opened the envelope.
Inside was a handwritten letter.
It wasn't addressed to the police.
It was addressed to Emily.
"If you're reading this, you finally won."
Emily's hands trembled.
The letter continued.
"But you still don't know who planned everything."
Everyone exchanged confused looks.
Ryan smiled for the first time since his arrest.
"You all blamed the wrong monster."
The room fell silent.
Then another page slipped from the envelope.
It contained only one sentence.
"Look at the surgeon."
Every eye turned toward Dr. Marcus Hale—the celebrated neurosurgeon who had operated on Emily.
His face instantly lost all color.
Before anyone could react, he bolted toward the exit.
Detectives tackled him in the hallway.
A search of his office uncovered encrypted financial records showing millions of dollars in payments from dozens of suspicious estates linked to mysterious patient deaths.
Ryan burst into laughter.
"You thought I was the mastermind?"
"I was just the recruiter."
"The surgeon made the illnesses disappear... permanently."
Emily felt the room spinning.
Everything she believed had been wrong.
Ryan had hunted the victims.
But someone far more powerful had been deciding who lived...
and who never woke up from the operating table.
As Dr. Hale was dragged away in handcuffs, he looked directly at Emily and whispered one chilling sentence:
"You still haven't met the person who paid us both."
The entire hallway fell silent.
May you like
Because if he was telling the truth...
the real mastermind was still free.
