Chapter 4 - THE DIGITAL CONFESSION"Dad, play it," Leo whispered, tugging gently at Arthur’s sleeve. "Play what she said last Tuesday."

Arthur knelt back down, taking the black pocket recorder from his son’s small palm. His fingers trembled as he pressed the play button.

The tinny, unmistakable voice of Victoria filled the silent ballroom, amplified by the high-ceiling acoustics:

"Stop crying, you little rat. If your father finds out you're breathing, my entire plan falls apart. Just stay in the dark a little longer. When he signs over the final shares of Sterling Industries to me next month, I'll take you to an orphanage across the ocean—or maybe I'll just seal the wall for good. Nobody checks behind the east wing masonry anyway."

The recording clicked off.

The silence in the room was absolute. Even the ambient hum of the city outside seemed to pause.

Victoria lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling with wide, unblinking eyes. The game was up. There was no escaping a confession broadcasted to the most powerful people in the country, captured on a device planted by a child she thought she had successfully broken.

"Get the police," Arthur whispered to his head of security, who was standing paralyzed near the entrance. "And call every federal prosecutor in the state. I want her stripped of every cent, every title, and every breath of freedom she has ever enjoyed."

Two massive security guards stepped forward, hauling Victoria up by her arms. She didn't fight back anymore; she just let out a chilling, hysterical laugh that echoed as they dragged her out past the horrified, whispering crowd.
