Chapter 10 - THE FINAL WHISPERThe sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue across the restored ballroom where it all began three years ago.

Arthur tucked Leo into bed, reading him his favorite story until the boy’s breathing slowed and he drifted into a peaceful, dreamless sleep. There were no nightmares tonight, no shadows, and no walls hiding dark secrets.

As Arthur quietly stood up to leave the room, the digital baby monitor on the bedside table flickered softly.

He paused, glancing at the glowing screen.

For a split second, the audio feed crackled with static. A faint, distant sound—like a muffled whisper through old concrete—seemed to drift from the speaker.

Arthur froze, his hand hovering over the doorknob. His breath caught in his throat.

Then, a tiny, sleepy hand reached out from under the blankets and tapped the power button on the monitor. The static vanished, replaced by the quiet, rhythmic breathing of a little boy sleeping soundly in his own bed.
