Chapter 10 - JUSTICE, REDEMPTION, AND A NEW DAWNThe countdown clock on the central server screen ticked down relentlessly: 00:30... 00:29... 00:28...

Julian’s finger hovered directly over the red master purge button, his eyes wild with desperate triumph.

"You're checkmated, Moretti!" Julian screamed, spittle flying from his lips. "You can shoot me, but if you do, my reflex action will hit that button, and your daughter’s mind is gone forever! Choose! Her memories or my life!"

Vincent didn't panic. His breathing slowed down to a rhythmic, ice-cold steady pace. He remembered the cellar. He remembered the bruises on Audrey’s wrists. He remembered the six-second recording of her breathing and the three soft taps.

I need you.

Vincent didn't aim for Julian’s chest.

In a fraction of a second, with terrifying speed and precision, Vincent raised his rifle and squeezed the trigger.

BANG!

A single gunshot echoed through the server room.

The bullet didn't hit Julian. It passed one inch above his right hand, cleanly shearing the heavy industrial power cable suspended directly behind the console.

Thousands of volts of electrical current surged through the cable, discharging a brilliant blue arc of plasma right into the master control board.

CRACKLE! SPARK!

The server mainframe exploded in a cascade of blinding white sparks and dense black smoke. The countdown timer on the screen violently flickered, turned solid green, and then flashed: SYSTEM PURGE ABORTED. BACKUP DATA RESTORED.

Julian’s eyes bulged in absolute horror. He lunged forward to press the button manually, but the dead console remained completely dark and unresponsive.

"No... NO!" Julian screamed, falling to his knees as the smoke cleared. "It's gone! All the data—everything we built!"

Vincent walked forward slowly, his boots crushing shattered glass beneath his feet. He towered over Julian, who was now cowering on the floor like a broken animal.

Vincent didn't say a word. He simply raised the butt of his heavy rifle and brought it down across Julian’s jaw with crushing force.

Julian crumpled instantly onto the concrete, unconscious.

At that exact moment, Kael and the strike team burst into the server room through the open blast door, weapons drawn.

"Sir! Perimeter secure! Are you alright?" Kael shouted over the hum of dying servers.

Vincent lowered his rifle, letting out a long, heavy breath that carried away months of agonizing pain, sleepless nights, and burning vengeance.

"Call the medical transport," Vincent said quietly, turning toward the exit. "We’re going back to Audrey."

Epilogue: Sunrise Over the Moretti EstateThree days later, the morning sun rose over the city, casting a warm, golden glow across the manicured gardens of the Moretti Estate.

The sky was clear, the air was crisp, and the dark cloud of fear that had hung over the family for eight long months had finally vanished forever.

Inside the bright, sun-drenched master living room, Audrey sat propped up on a plush velvet sofa, wrapped in a soft cashmere blanket. The color had fully returned to her cheeks, and a genuine, radiant smile touched her lips as she painted on a small canvas easel.

The front doors gently opened.

Vincent walked into the room, holding a steaming cup of tea and a fresh bouquet of white lilies. He stopped for a moment, watching his daughter laugh softly at something the nurse whispered to her.

Audrey turned her head and saw him standing there.

She set her paintbrush down, stood up from the sofa, and walked across the room—not stumbling, not trembling, but standing tall, strong, and completely free.

She threw her arms around Vincent’s neck, burying her face in his shoulder.

"Welcome home, sweetheart," Vincent whispered, his eyes shining with unshed tears of absolute joy as he held her tight against his heart.

"I am home, Dad," Audrey smiled, looking up at him with clear, bright eyes. "And I'm never leaving."

Outside the gates, the world had changed completely. The corrupt were in prison, the shadow syndicate had been driven back into the dark corners of the earth, and the Moretti family stood stronger and more untouchable than ever before.

But inside the house, nothing else mattered except the simple, beautiful truth of a father and daughter reunited at last.
