Chapter 8 - The Final Twist & Redemption

"What is that?" Eleanor whispered, her voice trembling with sudden terror.

"Ten years ago, when you banished me into the rain, I had nothing," Elena revealed, a victorious smile gracing her lips. "But I had my mind. Over the last decade, while raising my four beautiful daughters, I secretly established an anonymous, decentralized venture capital firm named Vance Global."

Michael turned to Elena, his mouth slightly open in utter disbelief.

"Using my father’s hidden overseas accounts that you never found," Elena continued, locking eyes with Eleanor, "I spent nine years short-selling Harrington Group stock every time you made a corporate blunder. As of 9:00 AM this morning, Vance Global owns 51% of Harrington Group’s common stock."

The entire room erupted into utter chaos!

"You... YOU own the company?!" Eleanor stammered, clutching her chest as she collapsed back into her leather chair.

"I don't just own Harrington Group," Elena said coldly. "I own Vance Pharmaceuticals, your estate, your vehicles, and the very clothes on your back. You are evicted, Eleanor. Effective immediately."

At that moment, federal agents and NYPD officers swarmed the boardroom, flashing badges and arrest warrants.

"Eleanor Harrington and Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for first-degree murder, corporate fraud, kidnapping, and conspiracy," the lead agent announced, slapping steel handcuffs onto Eleanor’s wrists and dragging Victoria away as she screamed in rage.

As the press swarmed the room, Michael turned to Elena and dropped to one knee right there in front of the world's media.

"Elena... I gave up my title as CEO today," Michael said softly, looking up into her green eyes with pure devotion. "I don't want the empire. I don't want the money. I only want a second chance to be the father our daughters deserve, and the man you should have had ten years ago. Will you let me earn your heart back?"

Elena looked down at him, then looked at her four daughters, who were smiling with tears of joy in their eyes.

Chloe stepped forward, taking Michael’s hand and placing it in Elena’s. "Mommy... we like him. He bought us hot soup and promised to never let anyone hurt us again."

Elena laughed through her tears, pulling Michael up and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Then I guess... we can start over, CEO."
