The private terrace of the Sterling Estate in the Hamptons overlooked the glittering Atlantic Ocean at sunrise.
The morning breeze rustled the white linen curtains.
Emma stood by the glass railing, holding a cup of hot black coffee, wearing a simple white cashmere sweater.
Nathan was gone—serving a fifteen-year federal sentence in a maximum-security prison upstate. Julian and Celeste were awaiting trial for international fraud and attempted murder.
The empire her family had built was finally back where it belonged. Entirely under her command.
Footsteps sounded behind her. Her father walked out onto the terrace, smiling warmly as he handed her a fresh legal document.
"What's this, Dad?" Emma asked, raising an eyebrow.
"The final restructuring papers," Arthur smiled. "As of this morning, the board has officially voted to rename the parent company Sterling & Daughter Enterprises."
Emma looked at the document, a brilliant, genuine smile spreading across her face.
She took a sip of her coffee, looking out toward the endless horizon where the sun was breaking through the dark clouds, painting the sky in shades of gold and fire.
They had tried to break her. They had tried to steal her life, her marriage, and her legacy.
