Chapter 7 - THE GALA OF DECEITTwo days later. The grand ballroom of the Plaza Hotel glittered with crystal chandeliers, champagne fountains, and three hundred of New York’s elite gathered for the annual Sterling-Vance Charity Gala.

At the center stage stood Julian Sterling—a ruthless billionaire with silver hair and a shark-like smile—holding a microphone.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Julian announced smoothly to the applauding crowd. "Tonight is a momentous occasion. As my associate Nathan Sterling prepares to step down due to personal tragedy, our firm will formally assume controlling interest in Sterling Enterprises."

In the front row, Celeste sat in a stunning emerald-green gown, sipping champagne, wearing a triumphant grin that practically shouted victory.

Suddenly, the grand double doors of the ballroom swung open.

The room went dead silent.

Walking down the red carpet wasn't a broken woman hiding in shame.

It was Emma Sterling.

She wore a breathtaking, backless midnight-blue silk gown, her head held high, her eyes flashing with absolute, unyielding power. And walking right beside her, leaning on a cane but standing tall, was Arthur Sterling—a man the entire financial world believed had been dead for twenty-five years.

Julian Sterling’s microphone slipped from his hand, clattering loudly against the wooden stage!
